Other Mommy New Trailer Unleashes Jessica Chastain As A Terrifying Doppelganger

Universal Pictures has turned up the horror with a chilling new trailer for Other Mommy, the upcoming supernatural thriller from acclaimed genre filmmaker Rob Savage. Led by Oscar winner Jessica Chastain, the film takes a disturbing childhood nightmare and turns it into a sinister story about family, fear and an entity that looks exactly like the person a child trusts most.

At the centre of the story is Bela, a young girl whose world begins to darken when she encounters a mysterious entity inside her home. The frightening part is not simply that the presence is supernatural — it looks uncannily like her own mother. What begins as a strange relationship between a child and an unfamiliar presence gradually becomes something far more sinister, leaving Bela caught between the comfort of home and a threat hiding in plain sight.

Chastain takes on dual roles in the film, playing Bela's mother as well as the terrifying “Other Mommy”, the manifestation of the entity haunting the family. Joining Chastain is Arabella Olivia Clark, who plays Bela, while Jay Duplass portrays her father. The cast also includes Dichen Lachman, Arian Moayed and screen legend Karen Allen. The screenplay comes from Nathan Elston and is based on Josh Malerman's book Incidents Around the House. Malerman is also the author of Bird Box, another story that became a major screen adaptation, making the source material an intriguing foundation for Savage's latest horror outing.
